Alexander Valley Bridge to Healdsburg Memorial Bridge // 14 miles // 8 hrs

We put in under the bridge and paddled at a nice pace for a while. Hawks, Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, and ducks were around every turn. In some spots there would all of a sudden be hundreds of dragonfly's, but most exciting was coming up on a few deer drinking from the river.

There were quite a few sections of the river that got narrow with Willow. Some of the sections we were able to power through, but we had to portage at least 5 or 6 times to get past sections where we couldn't see around the corner or there were trees laying in the river.

The last few hours slowed down a bit with wide sections and wind, but there was still a little excitement along the way. With our legs covered in cuts, our shoulders sore and a bit of a sunburn we loaded up and headed to Rio Nido for food, drinks and some surpirise entertainment.
